OVERVIEW
Company membership is for experienced dancers and choreographers who have a background, interest, and appreciation for a variety of dance styles.
Our biannual performance seasons feature a wide range of styles including Contemporary, Jazz, Commercial, Tap, Modern, Musical Theater and Pop. We have also presented work in Hip Hop, Poi, Step, Hoop, Bollywood, Chinese Classical and Latin styles.
LOCATION
Rehearsals are primarily held at dance studios in Malden, MA, but we also rehearse in Charlestown, Somerville, Cambridge, Arlington and Woburn (varies by season). Members will be informed about the rehearsal schedule and locations before joining a season.
Our performances are held at Boston University Dance Theater on Buick Street in Boston, MA.
AUDITION PROCESS
What makes OnStage unique? Dancers do not attend auditions for specific pieces or choreographers. Instead, dancers audition to receive a Level (1-3) in our four main dance styles: Contemporary, Jazz, Tap and Commercial. Dancers are then invited to sign up for any piece at, or below, their designated level.
While choreographers do not get to choose specific dancers, they can be assured that their cast has the necessary experience and ability required for their piece.
Choreographers attend a private audition with the OnStage Director and Board to discuss their ideas and present their dance work. If selected, choreographers are given all of the resources necessary to bring their piece to life!
PRICING
Audition Deposit: $25 due when submitting registration form.

This deposit will be applied to your membership dues if you join the company.

If you do not attend your audition, do not receive an audition level, or choose not to join the company this fee is forfeited.

This fee is only refundable if you cancel your audition with 24 hours advance notice.
Member Dues: Paid at Company Showcase after you officially decide to join the company.

Member Dues cover the cost of: rehearsal studio rentals, costume and prop rentals, filming locations, theater rental, equipment purchases and rentals, professional videography and editing, professional photography, technical crew, choreographer stipends, marketing, insurance and administrative costs.
Company T-Shirt: $20
Dancers wear our company t-shirt for our finale dance and company photo. This is a one-time purchase and the shirt is re-used every season.
