OnStage Dance Company is accepting applications for experienced and emerging choreographers to create new work for our upcoming season.
We offer two types of choreography formats:
- Live Dance: Works presented live on stage at our seasonal performance
- Dance Films: Works created to be filmed at "site specific" locations and screened during a seasonal performance
All dance styles are welcome. Our performances feature a wide range including: Jazz, Modern, Tap, Contemporary, Musical Theater and Pop/Commercial. Past seasons have also included Hip Hop, Ballet, Poi, Step Hoop, Bollywood, Chinese Classical and Latin styles.
If the style falls outside our audition rubric, casting will be determined by the director, in consultation with the choreographer.
CHOREOGRAPHER AUDITIONS
CHOREOGRAPHY REQUIREMENTS

3:00-4:30 minutes in length
-
completely original work by the choreographer who is applying

new work that has not been performed before
-
set to music that does NOT include obscenities, racist, misogynistic, homophobic or otherwise offensive lyrics

designed for 5-15 dancers.

AUDITION PREPARATION
Audition slots are approximately 30 minutes.
You will be meeting with the OnStage Director and Board to discuss your proposal. Come prepared to answer questions about the details of your piece, previous dance or choreography experience and expectations for company membership. You will also be asked to perform 45-60 seconds of your choreography at the audition.
