​and Performance Opportunities

Are you an experienced dancer looking for opportunities to perform?
Are you an aspiring, emerging, or experienced choreographer looking to
​create new work and present it on stage or screen?
OnStage Dance Company is for experienced dancers and emerging choreographers who have a background, interest or appreciation in a variety of dance styles.

​Our performances feature a wide range of styles including Contemporary, Classical Jazz, Commercial Jazz, Tap, Modern, Musical Theater and Pop. We have also shared work in Hip Hop, Poi, Step, Hoop, Bollywood, and Latin styles.

OnStage produces two performance seasons per year (Spring and Winter), rehearsing for 10-12 weeks leading to show day.

But our work is not limited to live, staged performance. We also offer dance film opportunities!

Membership Fees

AUDITION DEPOSIT: $25
  • Due at audition registration, this deposit will be applied to your member dues if you join the company. 
  • This fee is only refundable if you cancel your audition 24 hours in advance.
  • If you do not attend your audition(s), do not receive an audition level, or choose not to join the company, the fee is forfeited.
COMPANY T-SHIRT: $20
  • A one-time purchase of our company t-shirt that is worn during our finale dance and in our company photo.
  • This shirt is re-used every season.
MEMBER DUES:
  • Due at the company showcase after you officially decide to join the company. These fees cover the cost of costumes, props, studio rentals, filming locations, theater rental, equipment purchases and rentals, videography and editing, photography, technical crew, marketing and administrative costs.
  • Remember, your $25 audition deposit will be applied to your member dues if you join.
  • The amount is based on how many dances you join:
  • 1 - $165     2 - $280     3 - $390     4 - $480     5 - $550      6 - $600
  • Payment plans are available when signing up for 3 or more pieces.
  • Choreographers do not pay to perform in their own pieces.

Mandatory Meetings + Rehearsals

Season 28 rehearsals will be held from April 13 - June 18. Exact schedule will depend on which pieces you participate in.
In addition to rehearsals, attendance for the following dates are mandatory in order to participate:
  • Company Meeting + Showcase: Sunday, April 6th at 12pm
  • Tech Rehearsal: Thursday, June 19 (starting 5:30pm)
  • Dress Rehearsal: Friday, June 20 (starting 5:30pm)
  • Show Day: Saturday, June 21 (all day)**
** If you plan to ONLY participate in filmed pieces, you are not required to attend our show weekend June 21, unless you wish to perform in our finale dance.

Locations

Rehearsals are primarily held at dance studios in Malden, MA. We also sometimes rehearse in Somerville, Cambridge and Arlington. Dancers will know the schedule and locations of rehearsals before they sign up.
